Educator qualifications & tutor selection process
A great tutor combines rigorous academic command of their subject with the patience to diagnose why a concept isn't clicking. Here is how we evaluate, verify, and match our instructors.
Recruitment & Vetting
What every MathMakeSmart tutor must demonstrate before teaching
1. University Degree & Subject Assessment
Instructors hold bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees in their teaching field and complete timed assessments on actual upper-secondary exam papers (AP, SAT, GCSE, A-Level).
2. Mock Lesson & Pedagogical Review
We evaluate each applicant in a live mock session to ensure they ask diagnostic questions, write clearly on the shared whiteboard, and guide students rather than simply reading answers.
3. Identity, Safeguarding & Curriculum Clearance
Every tutor completes identity verification and background screening, and is cleared specifically for the regional curricula and exam boards they know intimately.
How we match your student with an instructor
In accordance with our privacy and staff-protection policy, we only display individual educator profiles publicly when explicit written publication consent is on file. During your free trial consultation, you will receive the full academic background and qualifications of the tutor matched to your child.
Tell us your child's grade level, subject, exam board, and learning temperament. Our academic coordinators will select an appropriate specialist and share their academic credentials with you ahead of your complimentary 30-minute trial lesson.
